Distinctive Leadership (1) - Leadership Practices7 of our student leaders for TF 2008 attended a camp organised by SYFC in the past week... the following are excerpts to the things they learn...
-------------------
No matter what leadership style you have
(charismatic, participative, situational, transactional, transformational, quiet or servant),
every good leader engages the following
leadership practices:
1/
Challenge the Process (Doing things better and differently,
experimenting and learning from mistakes)
2/
Inspiring A Shared Vision (Seeing and Sharing the Big Picture,
appealing to others with optimism)
3/
Enable Others to Act (Empowering others,
trusting and developing competence)
4/
Model the Way (Setting the Example,
behaving consistent with shared values)
5/
Encouraging the Heart (Complimenting
individual's contribution and Celebrating
achievements)
personally, I am stronger in Practice 3, weakest in Practice 5... what about u?
